Welcome to the PHED 3001 Class Wiki!

Following one of the forum discussions, students asked about dealing with behavior issues. I have created a page that lists several strategies to prevent and reduce discipline issues but there are many more. Feel free to add more if you wish. Check it out! Preventing and reducing discipline problems

This wiki will be used to create and collaborate on lesson plans prepared during your practicum in PE.

Do this first: You will receive an invitation to join the wiki. You will be able to create a free account that will allow you to edit the pages.

Want to insert a picture/table/..., check out this wiki quick guide! Wiki Quick Guide

To start: Click Edit on the top, type in lesson plan and click save at the bottom! Email me if you have any questions :) hbaert@uark.edu

Assignment: The purpose of this assignment is to create a lesson plan and help each other to enhance each other lessons. As we begin the process of creating lesson plans, together as a team, we can work collaborative to assist each other in this process. The focus in this assignment is to work together, not to create the "best" lesson plan (which does not exist, as it depends on many factors).

As we start to practice teach PE, we create multiple lesson plans that often go unshared and we end up creating lesson plans someone else already created. A wiki can help us collect and collaborate on lesson plans. This process should be a shared and open one. Can you imagine having multiple lesson plans in one place to check out and try out? A lessonplan database created by and for Uark PE teacher candidates!

How?

  1. Click on your name below to go to your lesson plan template. Using the template, create a lesson plan for a lesson you will teach during your mentorship (Due: April 11th)
  2. Teach the lesson and reflect on your teaching experience (at bottom of lesson plan) (Due: April 18th)
  3. From your reflections, enhance your lesson plan (improve it) (Due: April 18th)
  4. Go to the lesson plans of the 2 students listed next to your webpage (see below) and add some specific comments (at least 2) on how they can improve their lesson (new activities, more adaptations,...). Comments do not include statements like "good job, or well done", comments are meant to be suggestive, constructive and encouraging. (Due: April 18th)
  5. After the comments are given to your lesson plan, make adjustments accordingly (adding options to your lessonplan e.g.... improve it once again) (Due: April 25th)

Grading: Completing all 5 assignments on time will get you full credit for this assignment.
